Florida theme park tips and tricks

Written by Stefan

e Florida is widely known for the sunshine, beautiful water, and theme park haven. No matter if you are joining Harry Potter at Universal Studios, meeting with Mickey at Disney, or exploring the brush at Busch Gardens, our tips remain the same to create a memory-filled and stress-free trip.

Tip one: Pick a Date and Time.

If you’re coming here on vacation, you are nearby, the know the months you like to avoid, such as September or August. However, many other tourists feel the same and these months always see the least amount of traffic. Additionally, if you are able weekday trips will be the least crowded, especially Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We always suggest getting to the parks as early as you can. This helps you avoid traffic and get into the park early. Additionally, later afternoon trips can be beneficial for fewer crowds.

Meet Mickey and Minnie while exploring the child-like wonders of Disney in Orlando.

Tip two: Save Money.

Often if you go to Orlando for Disney or Universal Studios there are many gift shops nearby with old merchandise you can purchase for much cheaper than at the park. Additionally, often you can bring a reusable water bottle versus purchasing multiple drinks to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Tip three: Packing and getting ready.

Always make sure you are dressed comfortably. If you would like a photo op at the part, make sure you bring a change of clothes. Do not underestimate the Florida heat! Make sure you are wearing airy and loose clothes. These parks are also huge so wear comfortable shoes while hiking through miles of adventure. Bring a small backpack or purse for carrying wallets, phones, cash, and spending less on locker space!

Tip four: For when you arrive.

Our biggest suggestion is to keep an eye on parking prices and shuttles. Often these parks have massive parking lots, if you are driving there make sure you know where you are going beforehand and are prepared for parking. If you are staying nearby, the best suggestion is to Uber or take advantage of free shuttles or buses. Keep track of pick-up times, or simply Uber to the park. They drive you pretty much to the gate, for a small trip fee you get a front seat drop-off!

Tip five: Rides and Attractions.

I cannot stress enough to ensure you have an itinerary. These parks have tons to do and many attractions. Write down the most important attractions, rides, and locations you want to visit. Make them from most to least important and go for it. If you try to wing the day likely you will miss out on something you genuinely would have loved to do! Additionally, almost all theme parks have ride and attraction apps for your smartphone. Download them, trust me, do it. You will be able to see all attraction wait times; this is extremely helpful to monitor your favorite rides and must-do activities.

There are fast passes, express passes, or skip-the-line tickets, however, sometimes these may simply not be worth the money. If you go on a less busy day, you may not even need them!
