Accessibility Statement

We are making our website accessible to people regardless of technology or ability. At Gulf Coast Holiday Homes our goal is to ensure digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards. We believe everyone has a right to information.

We aim to have all impaired users have the ability to see, understand, navigate, and interact with our website. Our site is built on compiled HTML / CSS / and Javascript that displays correctly in most modern browsers. We are making efforts to do an excellent job implementing the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA (“WCAG 2.0 AA”) among other common best practices.

Here are just a few of the improvements we are currently making to our website:

Skipping Nav Elements

We realize that skipping navigation would be a great feature for accessibility and we’re working on a way to make that comply with the best recommended standards available.

Better Color Contrast

Through better contrast ratios, we are making it possible to access content without having to differentiate among colors.

Alternatives to Image Text

We are improving the way we label images so the user understands their context and the image assists in the user understanding the meaning of a page. Currently almost all text is not an image. If any text appears as an image on our website, we will provide a text alternative.

More and Better Label Tags

We are working on making more labels and titles for all users to find what they are looking for. We have labeled form elements properly and are looking into better responses for errors and success prompts.

Better Keyboard Access

We are working on better ways to make it easier to use the keyboard on our website including the navigation system. We’d like to minimize keystrokes and have a plan to allow better tabbing down the page.

Changing Color, Re-Sizing Text, Adjusting the Font

We want to give users the ability to change the text size and font style, to underline links, and other ways for the user to customize the page to understand information.

Video and Audio Controls

Where audio and video is on our website, we are committed to finding ways to make those controls the most accessible.

Partial Conformance

Some pages may be limited to being partially conforming if a 3rd party has submitted content or a 3rd party app does not fully meet accessibility standards. If these pages exist, we are working on an alternative option that would provide the most benefit possible to all users.

3rd Party Help

We are working with a 3rd party web design team to help us comply with ADA standards.

Future Changes

As technology and standards change, we plan on staying up-to-date with those improvements

We at Gulf Coast Holiday Homes don’t want anything to prevent users from learning about our company. If you find that something on our website is not accessible, don’t hesitate to call us or email us. We’d be happy to assist you in any way that we can.
