Frequently Asked Questions

What to expect from your home away from home?

Congratulations, you have selected a fully equipped self-catering home for your vacation here on the beautiful Florida Gulf Coast and although Hotel-type service is not included, we will do everything possible to ensure your stay here is an enjoyable one.

What do I do with leftovers and waste products?

Please be aware unrefrigerated food products will attract insects. Please do not leave any food or crumbs on surfaces throughout the house. Insects can find their way to food from anywhere!

Garbage Disposal:

For your own comfort and safety, please dispose of daily food waste by feeding this through the electrically operated waste disposal unit in the kitchen sink. Bear in mind, when using this appliance, cold water should be running at all times.

Also note: vegetable matter only – no bones, onion skins, egg shells, fibrous foods, fruit pits or coffee grounds. Be aware that these will jam the unit!

During your stay:

In this sub-tropical climate, please do not put leftover food in the trash cans. The smell will become unbearable for you after just a short period of time and insects will find their way to them. Please use the garbage disposal or leave perishables in the refrigerator.

On the day of your departure:

Please do not place food leftovers in trash cans. Leave all leftover perishable foods in the refrigerator and place any dry goods on the kitchen counter for disposal by housekeeping.

What recycling policy is there?

It`s mandatory – all paper & cardboard products plus bottles and cans need to be recycled.

As you accumulate these recyclable items, please place them in the recycling bins. For disposal, place these bins curbside early in the morning (starting from 6 a.m.) on collection day or better the night before then return them to the garage later the day when empty.

What do I do if I need to adjust the temperature in the home?

Please do not lower the air condition controls to below 75 Degrees. If you do, there is a risk of damaging the unit making it inoperable (it will freeze up), depriving you of its cooling ability. If this happens you will be responsible for the resultant repair costs.

To help keep your home nice and cool, may we suggest you do not leave doors and windows open any longer than absolutely necessary.

Oops – I’m so sorry, we have had an accident and have broken something?

If you do accidentally break something, then please tell us so that we can provide replacements for arriving guests. We will not charge you for minor breakages, i.e. the random wine glass. If there has been major accidental damage, please let us know right away so that we can process this appropriately. Often this will be covered by accidental damage insurance or a security deposit. If not, we will notify you in writing before processing a charge.

If you notice anything amiss when you arrive, please let us know immediately so that we can make a note of it.

Have additional questions?

Please check our Frequently Asked Questions webpage for additional frequently asked questions and information. If you do not find your question there, feel free to reach out to us and we can answer them for you!
