Fort Myers / Cape Coral area - Our Opinion

Great beach activities and water sports

• Some of the best luxury homes on the Gulf Coast, Florida
• Cape Coral is very pretty and quiet for a relaxing vacation. There is an intimate local beach with a casual café overlooking the water for snacks and drinks.
• Fort Myers with its Gulf beaches is a lively place with plenty of bars and restaurants and is only about 10-15 minutes drive from Cape Coral. Try "Fat Tuesdays" or "Squiggies Diner" at Fort Myers beach
• Many Cape Coral Homes are on the waterfront with their own boat dock. Boats can be hired quite reasonably.
• History buffs will love the Henry Ford and Thomas Edison winter homes that are now interesting museums.
• Shell collectors will have a ball on the beautiful beaches of nearby Sanibel Island.

You'll almost have the beach to yourself

• One of the best value for money areas for villas on the Gulf Coast with nicely furnished homes with private pools
• Very quiet countrified location but shops and restaurants are only a few minutes drive away
• A pretty beach on the Peace River is about 5 - 10 minutes drive away
• Gulf beaches at Manasota Key and Gasparilla Island are 20 - 25 minutes drive from our homes
• Not much in the way of nightlife or man - made entertainment, but all the familiar restaurants such as Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Burger King and McDonalds are there.
•  Sarasota and Fort Myers are about an hour away and Naples and the Everglades about an hour and a half by car.
